– NorthPeak Wireless, LLC, announced today that it has
filed a patent infringement suit against a number of
companies infringing NorthPeak’s patented direct
sequence spread spectrum wireless technology.
NorthPeak, owner of the NSSPP™, which contains a number
of patents covering numerous aspects of wireless
communications technology, named a number of defendants in
the suit, including 3Com Corporation, Acer America
Corporation, Belkin International, Inc., Buffalo
Technology (USA), Inc., D-Link Systems, Inc., Epson
America, Inc., Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation,
Hewlett-Packard Company, Netgear, Inc., SonicWALL, Inc.,
Sony Electronics Inc., Toshiba America Information
Systems, Inc., Trendnet Systems, Inc., U.S. Robotics
Corporation, ViewSonic Corporation, and ZyXEL
Communications, Inc., among others. NorthPeak has
asserted two patents from the NSSPP™ – U.S. Patent
Nos. 4,977,577 and 5,987,058 – in this case, which was
filed in the Northern District of Alabama’s Huntsville
Division.
Ryan K. Walsh, a Partner in Coughlin Stoia’s

only to protect its intellectual property rights and those
of the licensees of this technology, but also to protect
